ECLIPSE is designed to detect various kinds of electronic devices containing semiconductor elements, such as eavesdropping devices, microphone amplifiers, audio-recording devices, remote control devices etc., both in switched-on and switched-off modes.
A non linear junction detector locates potential eavesdropping devices by flooding a suspect area or target with a spectrally pure microwave RF signal.
The relative strength of second and third harmonic returned being reflected by non-linear junctions varies depending on the construction material of the junction. Metallic junctions return a greater relative 3rd harmonic signal than semiconductors junctions. Semiconductors junctions return a greater relative 2nd harmonic signal than metal oxides. By comparing the relative strengths of the two harmonics ECLIPSE gives the operator a clearer indication of the source of any reflected signal.
Feature:
· the frequency selection (within the effective range with the tuning step 0.5 MHz) is done automatically in accordance with the minimal noise at the 2nd harmonic
· due to using of different formats of modulation of fundamental signal there is a possibility not only to detect radio transmitting devices, but to define their types through listening to them
· manual adjustment of radiation power
· minimized back and side directional lobes
· built-in loudspeaker
· possibility to connect headphones
· circularly polarized antenna reduces search time and improves reliability
· power supply from both rechargeable battery and 220 V AC mains
